In May, Sunrise launched its own TV product app called neo. And as a first for Switzerland, Tutela has used its new metric, consistent quality, which looks at different use cases to identify the quality of each connection - including video streaming.
In Tutela’s latest testing, Sunrise topped the consistent quality metric, with the highest percentage of 85% ‘excellent’ consistent quality. Swisscom had the highest average download speed at 32.65 Mbps, and Swisscom also had the lowest latency result on the 4G network with 16.3 ms.
Sunrise lead 'excellent' consistent quality
Sunrise topped the consistent quality metric with the highest percentage of ‘excellent’ quality with 85%, and scored an overall percentage of 98.9% for basic quality. Swisscom was close behind with 83.3% excellent quality and had the highest overall percentage of 99% for basic quality. Salt came in third with 74.8% for excellent and an overall percentage of 98.7% for basic.
Swisscom lead average speeds
Swisscom topped the 4G/3G speed test with 32.65 Mbps for average download speeds and 13.08 Mbps average upload speed. Despite having the second fastest average upload speed (11.55 Mbps), Sunrise has ranked third in the average download speed test with 22.86 Mbps. Salt recorded 23.65 Mbps average download and 10.38 Mbps average upload.
Swisscom also lead latency
Swisscom also came first in the latency test with the lowest result of 16.3 ms on the 4G network. On the 3G network, the provider had the second highest result of 46.2 ms. Salt recorded 17 ms on 4G and the best score on the 3G network with 44.1 ms. Sunrise recorded 17.1 ms on 4G and the highest latency result of 48.4 ms on 3G.
