In March, it was found that Panama’s telecom market will generate USD 1.6 billion in revenue by 2023, according to a study by GlobalData. And in a first look at Panama for August testing, Tutela has found favorable results from its mobile providers based on network quality. Cable & Wireless dominate all three testings and holds an Excellent Consistent Quality percentage of 55%.

Cable & Wireless leads Excellent Consistent Quality  

Cable & Wireless has the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage with 55% but did not reach Tutela’s 90% threshold for Core Consistent Quality, falling short by 3.6% with 86.4%. Movistar comes in second with 54.4% Excellent Consistent Quality and a Core Consistent Quality of 91.5%. Claro comes in third with 53.1% Excellent Consistent Quality and the highest Core Consistent Quality with 92.7%. Digicel rounds out the top four with 50.6% Excellent Consistent Quality and surpasses the threshold with a Core Consistent Quality of 90%. 

Cable & Wireless also lead average speeds 

Cable & Wireless has the fastest median download speed of 6.6 Mbps but has the slowest upload speed with 4.5 Mbps. Claro falls in close second with a median download speed of 6.5 Mbps and holds the second fastest upload speed with 5.1 Mbps. Movistar comes in third place with a download speed of 6.2 Mbps and an upload speed of 4.6 Mbps. Digicel again falls in fourth with 6.0 Mbps download speed and 5.7 Mbps upload speed. 

Cable & Wireless lead latency 

Cable & Wireless has the best latency result with an average transfer speed of 46.2 ms. With a 3.3. ms difference, Claro is in second with 49.5 ms. Digicel and Movistar are close behind with latency results of 49.7 ms and 49.8 ms, respectively.
