In the latest Mobile Experience Report for Panama, Cable & Wireless had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage in the country with 63.6%. The operator performed well on both 4G and 3G for latency, however Digicel took out the top spot for best download and upload speeds in Panama.
Cable & Wireless leads Excellent Consistent Quality
In Common Coverage Areas of Panama, Cable & Wireless had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage at 63.6%. Digicel was close behind by only 1.1%. Movistar had the third highest Excellent percentage with 58.7%, and Claro rounds out the top four with 57.1%. In regards to Core, all operators reached the 90% threshold and were incredibly close in performance with Digicel narrowly taking out the top spot with 92.9%.
Digicel leads average speeds
Despite a strong performance on the Consistent Quality metric, Cable & Wireless did not take out top spot on either the download or upload speed tests but the margins are small. Digicel had the fastest download speed in Panama with 8.3 Mbps and the fastest upload speed with 6.5 Mbps. Claro, the operator that came last in the Consistent Quality metric, bounced back in the download test for a result of 7.9 Mbps, only 0.4 Mbps behind Digicel. Cable & Wireless is close behind Digicel by only 0.4 Mbps for 7.5 Mbps download speed, and Movistar is also only 0.4 Mbps behind Cable & Wireless for a download speed of 7.1 Mbps.
Cable & Wireless lead latency on both 4G and 3G
On both 4G and 3G networks, Cable & Wireless performed the best with a one-way result of 41.1 ms and 49.1 ms, respectively. There’s a significant difference in performance between Cable & Wireless and the other operators on each network, with Claro coming in second with a performance difference of 6.9 ms on 4G and a difference of 10 ms on 3G.
