In our latest report for Guatemala, Movistar lead download speeds on 4G and across both 3G and 4G, whilst Claro inch ahead of Movistar to claim our top spot for upload speeds. Tigo also top our latency findings with a score of 48.0ms on 4G for the three months between May and July.
Movistar place first for download speeds
Similar to our April - June results, Movistar lead download speeds across both 3G and 4G, averaging 9.70Mbps compared with second place Tigo at 7.00Mbps and third place Claro, with average download speeds of 4.27Mbps. In Quezaltenango, Claro jump ahead of Tigo for average download speeds on 4G of 8.00Mbps, compared with Tigo’s 7.34Mbps in the region.
Claro claim our top spot for upload speeds
The 4G race for our upload speed top spot was close for the last quarter in Guatemala, with Claro placing first followed by Movistar and then Tigo, with average speeds of 6.54Mbps, 6.35Mbps and 6.16Mbps respectively. On 3G, the table flips with Tigo coming first followed again by Movistar and finally Claro - who place third for 3G upload speeds.
Tigo perform best for latency
As Tigo launch their One TV service in Guatemala, they also top our rankings for latency on both 3G and 4G, with results of 48.0ms on 4G and 102.4ms on 3G, ahead of both Claro and Movistar who place second and third respectively.
