In the latest Mobile Experience Report for Guatemala, Claro was found to have the highest Excellent Consistent Quality in the country with 73.4%. Movistar had the fastest download and upload speeds, and Tigo had the best latency on a 4G network.
Claro tops Excellent Consistent Quality
In Common Coverage Areas of Guatemala, Claro had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage with 73.4%. Movistar was close behind with an Excellent percentage of 72.0%, and Tigo had the lowest percentage at 65.4%. For Core Consistent Quality, Claro and Tigo were the only operators to reach the 90% threshold and Tigo managed to place second with 91.5%, only 1.8% behind first place Claro.
Movistar had the fastest download and upload speed
For speeds, Movistar had both the fastest median download speed in Guatemala at 13.6 Mbps and the fastest median upload speed at 7.6 Mbps. Claro was hot on the heels of its competitor with a median download speed of 12.2 Mbps and 6.7 Mbps upload. Tigo again falls in last place with a median download speed of 8.2 Mbps and 6.3 Mbps upload.
Tigo leads latency results
Tigo had the best one-way latency result on both the 4G and 3G network, with a result of 37.0 ms and 47.0 ms respectively. However, the difference in performance between the other operators are small: Claro was only 1.1 ms behind Tigo on the 4G network, and Movistar only 1.4 ms behind Tigo on the same network.
