After a surge in mobile customers throughout the later half of 2017, Free Mobile’s parent company Iliad is seeing continued success with the lowest latency results throughout France for the last three months.
SFR on the other hand, rank fourth in our latency tests behind both Bouygues and Orange. This years annual survey by the French Association of Telecommunications Users (Afutt) looked at over 5,200 complaints from the general public and ranked SFR as the most complained about network. However SFR is the first operator in France to conduct a 5G New Radio call which should pave the way to meet future data demand for their customers.
Orange lead download speeds
Although last week Orange suffered a major fault to its phone network in France which prevented tens of thousands of customers from making calls, thankfully their 4G network is performing much better, ranking at the top of our download speed chart ahead of Bouygues, SFR and Free Mobile.
Orange perform best for overall network stability
Orange also lead our network stability results with the lowest figures for jitter and second lowest score for packet loss.
Although posting considerable success with a reported 6% growth in revenue for Q1, according to our results Bouygues customers are suffering from high packet loss in comparison with the other three players in the French market.
Our findings for France are based on 3.91 billion network quality measurements including 299 thousand speed tests between February and April 2018. Our latest complimentary Mobile Experience Report is available to download from the Tutela Insights portal.
