In the latest Mobile Experience Report for Australia, Vodafone was found to have the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage in the country with 85.7%. The operator also had the best latency result. Optus had the fastest download speed but Telstra won out in the upload test.

Vodafone leads Excellent Consistent Quality

In Common Coverage Areas of Australia, Vodafone had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage with 85.7%. Hot on its heels however was Telstra with 85.5%, and Optus came in third with an Excellent percentage of 82.4%. In regards to Core, Vodafone again narrowly took out top spot with 97.4%, with Telstra only 0.2% behind. Optus was also in close competition with 0.6% behind first place Vodafone. 

Optus leads median download speeds

In regards to speeds, there is a switch in the rankings. Optus had the fastest median download speed in Australia with 25.4 Mbps, and Telstra in second for a difference of 1.3 Mbps in performance. Vodafone was in third place with a median download speed of 22.0 Mbps, only 3.4 Mbps behind first place Optus. For upload, Telstra took out the top spot with a median transfer speed of 11.3 Mbps, followed by Vodafone at 10.4 Mbps, and Optus not faring as well in this test with a result of 7.8 Mbps. 

Vodafone leads in latency

Vodafone had the best one-way latency result in Australia with 13.7 ms. The difference in performance between the other operators was slim, with Optus close behind with a result of 15.4 ms, a 1.7 ms difference, and Telstra in third with only 2.9 ms difference between first place Vodafone.
