Argentina: Movistar and Personal perform for speeds as Claro tops latency

Each operator in Argentina has something to shout about, as Movistar lead download speeds, Personal perform best for upload speeds and Claro secure our top spot for latency. There are also considerable regional differences to look out for, in Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe.

Movistar hold onto the top download speed performance of the group, with average speeds across both 3G and 4G of 8.25Mbps, and 9.48Mbps on 4G only. Personal follow close behind in second place with average download speeds of 8.21Mbps and 9.09Mbps respectively, with their 3G speeds a little above that of Movistars. Claro place third consistently across Argentina and in Sante Fe, Cordoba and Buenos Aieres where there are shifts in first and second place between Movistar and Personal.

Personal perform best for upload speeds

Across Argentina, Personal top our upload speed tests for August, with average speeds of 5.63Mbps on 4G. Movistar inch into second place with 5.20Mbps, just ahead of Claro at 5.17Mbps on 4G. On 3G, Claro sit just behind Personal and take second place from Movistar who are pushed down into third. There are some regional differences for 4G speeds, as Claro move up to second place in Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe.

Claro secure our top spot for latency

Just ahead of Movistar, Claro claim first place for the best 4G latency in Argentina, with results from August averaging at 36.0ms compared with Movistar at 36.1ms. Personal also aren’t too far behind in third place with a score of 37.3ms for the month on 4G. On 3G, it’s a different story altogether. As Movistar place first, followed by Personal and finally Claro.
